Client Screening

Each country or region has different practices of screening clients. As well as each area of sex work. Here are the beginnings of some examples of client screening techniques. If you have anything to add please write info@sex-work.org.

Questions

Depending on the area of sex work you are engaging in there will be different questions to ask your client. Please take into account local laws and where you are communicating (the street, on the phone, via e-mail).

List of possible questions (based on US or Canadian in dependant In/Out call)

  • How are they?
  • What type of session are they looking for? (GFE, PSE, Massage, BDSM, Fetish, Full Service).
  • Where will the session take place?
  • How long will the session be?
  • Do they have any outfit preferences?
  • What is a number they can be reached at?
  • Are they a member of RS2K or Datecheck (similar client screening organization)?
  • What is a name of a provider they have seen before and their site/phone number?
  • Do they understand the donation?
  • Have they been to my site?
  • Do they understand my restrictions?
Phone Call Screening
  • Getting the clients phone number and returning their call before providing location information. (This is the most common procedure in the Toronto area).
  • This may be proceeded by a reverse phone number look (looking up their phone number on a site such as white pages - this only works if they are giving you a home phone number. Cell phones are not registered on this system).
  • Many service providers choose not to answer blocked ID's or withheld numbers. Many SPs find that clients are undesirable that block their ID - (I found a sugar daddy off a blocked ID once). Some find that 50% of all calls are from blocked IDs - with only 1/8 of those booking a call.
ID Screening

When a client arrives check their ID against the information they have given you. This procedure is common in the US cities where law enforcement is hard on escorts.

Organizations Which Provide Client Screening

There are organizations in North America and Europe which provide screening. The client provides references of providers that have seen them before. They then provide ID, addresses and phone numbers to this organization. Then they receive a client number. For a fee you may provide the company with their ID for verification.

Some organizations that provide screening may be found on the links section of our site under Safety < Screening.

Work Place Screening

If the client has not seen a provider before and you wish for references to prove they are not law enforcement and to have a back up contact. Work information is an alternative and was suggested to us by touring escorts.
