Phone Sex

I've worked as a phone sex worked for a number of years, and I have to say that Keen is a great service. I haven't worked in a cubicle setting, but I have worked for 900 services that patch calls through to your home number. There are a couple of downsides to this:

1. they require a certain number of hours per week or month (depending on the company). Hours are *not* determined by the length of time you are logged into the system, rather how many minutes you spend talking to a client.
   
2. On occaision when lines were busy and not enough girls were logged in, they would call my land line to ask if I was willing to sign on. I felt this was indiscreet on their part, as they identified the company name before confirming who had answered.
   
3. You are not in control of the calls you recieve, and some companies penalize up to fifty cents for hanging up on a customer.
   
4. You are at their mercy for rates. Some companies have sliding scale, so the more minutes you are engaged in speaking to a customer, the more you earn per minute, but generally the percentages you get are very low.

That's an overview of my experience with 900 services. With Keen.com its very different. First off you are entirely in control of your hours. You can work as often as you like, or you can take off for months and come back if you feel like it. You still only earn money the actual minutes you are connected with a customer, but you're in control of when that is and how often.

While the calls come through to your home phone, clients never see your number. They call 1-800-ask keen, or click the little button on your site (which they provide for you) and the keen service connects you. All they'll ever know is your keen ID number, and if you choose to do cam chat, you'll have to provide your screen name (I set up a seperate one specifically for sex shows). Keen also will never call you at home.

With keen you are in control of your calls. There is no penalty for hanging up on someone. Its entirely up to you when the call ends. There's also a "block" feature, where if a person is rude or abusive, or even just plain boring, you can have them blocked from calling you ever again. No questions asked. You don't have to explain yourself to any one, and the decision can not be appealed. The only one who can take them off that list is you.

Also with keen you set your own rate for the call, and you can submit multiple listings for different categories, with a different rate for each. For example: you can post one listing in "women home alone" for $1.25/ min, and a listing in "anything goes" for $3.00/min and one in "financial domination" for $100/min. When a call comes through from keen you are first conected with a recording that states which listing the caller has... um... called Smile so just make sure you pay attention to that, and you won't get confused. The recording also asks you to "press 1 to accept the call". If something's come up, like say you need to go to the bathroom, you can decline the call. It will have a slight impact on your rating, but not on your earnings. Keen takes a percentage for their service, but its very low, and very fair. They also do direct deposit if you don't want checks mailed to your home.
